The clock strikes eleven,
as she whispers her prayers staring at heaven,
She shuts her eyes,
kneels by her bed & cries...
not a night goes by without a weep,
silently as she puts herself to sleep,
her tears soaked her pillows,
while the breeze blows the sleeping willows.
the scent of her perfume on the sheets,
she curls herself up & hides under the blanket,
her cat by her cold feet.
will the pain ever go away?
or will it forever stay this way?
god have mercy on this fragile soul
show her the world is not cold.
hush my lovely child, i am here,
tomorrow is new, throw away your fear,
the angels will keep you safe
and the morning sun is my warm embrace.
so when you rise and shine,
i hope to see a smile and u'll be fine
